Open Workout 18.5 announcement happens tonight at 8:00pm EST.
Go to: games.crossfit.com to check it out if you'd like!
BEFORE THE ANNOUNCEMENT HOWEVER...it was announced that the 18.5 workout is going to be decided by US via social media (Facebook)! There will be a fan vote between 3 different workouts as to which one we will all have to do during a live feed between 6-8pm tonight (Thursday night).

I will update this blog post once we understand the workout and I can formulate a plan for the day!
Would love to get as many people as we can to do another, similar Friday Night Lights action for the last one! I'll be there. Let's get after it!
As voted by the people, we are in for a 7:00 suck-fest. Haha!
Ascending Ladder By 3's
- Thrusters (100/65)
- C2B Pull Ups
Come out of this one a heck of a lot slower (or in a more controlled state, I should say) than you think/want to because you feel fresh. I've done this workout at least a half-dozen times, tried different strategies almost every time, and the time I got my best score is when I was in control almost the entire time of the workout. You do NOT want to get to that redline too soon! And we all know that thrusters and pull ups can get us to that point in no time.
The workout is only 7 minutes long. I get that you might think that you need to move quickly. But seriously, if you are just able to move and accumulate repetitions THROUGHOUT the 7 minutes, as opposed to (for example) doing the set of 12 thrusters unbroken and then waiting 20 seconds before getting on the pull up bar...that is essentially 5% of the time that you just wasted doing nothing right there!
In summary, the goal for this workout is to minimize rest. If that means completing smaller sets combined with smaller rests overall, great! Or, maybe you can control your thruster ROM at a slightly slower pace than piston-speed and catch your breath between repetitions there since you know you won't really be able to during the pull ups. The latter is how I, personally, plan to tackle this workout.
Best of luck to everyone! 7:00 in the pain cave! Here we go! Push it!
Post Results to the whiteboard.
