How did you start CrossFit?: I started CrossFit because I wanted to bring my “blah” routine work-outs to something more exciting, plus I liked the idea of working-out outside.
What is your favorite part about CrossFit?: The variety, and I love the way I feel after a good sweaty work-out.
What motivates you to continue CrossFit?: The results, and Crossfitter peeps!
What are your favorite movements and favorite WOD?: I like the Air Squats LOL! I don’t have a favorite WOD, but I like the ones that don’t require too much thinking J The CrossFit coaches will attest to those complex workouts we have, when I have to ask all kinds of questions and continue walking up to the board to see what’s next and how many… My brain is shot at the end of the day…
What is your favorite CrossFit memory?: The Nutrition Challenge and everything about it! It was fun and I enjoyed doing the quirky spot challenges, especially with my group (Shannon, Paudie and Bill-thanks!). The funniest part was the bear crawl in the tunnel and the looks we got… The best part was that we WON!
What is the best advice you can give a fellow CrossFitter?: I guess for me, my biggest thing is to not injure myself so I can continue to work-out long term. Every work-out I stay within my limits and try not to compare myself to what everyone else is doing. If I don’t feel comfortable with a movement I either scale it back or don’t do a lot of weight. I know that the wrong form (and if coupled w/ heavy weight) can cause injury.
Tell us something about yourself (Not fitness related) that others might not know: I used to be an aerobics/fitness/nautilus instructor (many, many years ago, before you needed to be certified)… I used to be a cosmetologist (many, many years ago) and still cut hair…
