How did you start CrossFit? I started CF with BSC about 1 month post kick off. I joined a friend of mine who told me it wasn’t that bad and I would probably enjoy it. When I arrived for my first WOD, I began the workout and determined when I could move to the next station and chose the station I like the best. My coach caught me. It was then that I realized this is serious stuff. I learned my lesson!
What is your favorite part about CrossFit? My favorite part of CF is the way I feel after a workout. I cannot stress how often I had no desire to go to class because I was too tired. Once I get to the platform, all the negatively just disappears. I also love when I see my counterparts join me and the coach says… ”Who’s ready to get fit?” It brings me to a much happier place. Also, the high 5’s and fist bumps carry me through each WOD.
What motivates you to continue CrossFit? I love that I don’t have to think about what to do next. The WODs are created and you just follow them. The varied workouts keep me coming back, as well as the people. There is a sort of pride I feel when I “show up.”
What are your favorite movements and favorite WOD? My favorite WODs include squats, jump rope, KB swings, abmat sit-ups and an occasional burpee. ;) Partner WODs are fun too because you have an even greater sense of ownership and responsibility to not only yourself, but your partner.
What is your favorite CrossFit memory? Any personal accomplishment is my favorite memory. Doing my first rope climb and T2B was truly exciting, but what’s more exciting is the support and cheers from my CF friends!
What is the best advice you can give a fellow CrossFitter? Do NOT let your mood or your most bloated day keep you from feeling that huge sense of accomplishment you get when you give it your all for just one hour.
Tell us something about yourself (NOT fitness related) that others might not know. I met my husband as my roommate and I had my 3rd child because we had a minivan with an extra seat! ;)
